Our Blauschiefer is a straightforward introduction to the world of Mosel Riesling: dry, mineral-forward, and shaped by barren slate soils. A wine with clear fruit, subtle spice, and the characteristic tension that makes Mosel Riesling so unmistakable.

1 x 2025 Goldmund Riesling off-dry

Goldmund shows the slightly softer, off-dry side of Riesling: juicy fruit, subtle residual sweetness, and lively acidity in perfect balance. The grapes come from higher-altitude, cooler plots, lending the wine freshness, lightness, and a fine, spicy aromatic profile.

1x 2024 Cueser Weisenstein Riesling

The Cueser Weisenstein grows in a warm, southwest-facing site with deeply weathered slate soil. As a result, it is yellow-fruited, round, and elegant. A Riesling with great drinkability and the typical balance of fruit, minerality, and acidity.

1x 2023 Kestener Paulinsberg Heiligenhaus Riesling

The Heiligenhaus comes from a historic plot in the Kestener Paulinsberg. Old vines and barren slate soil characterize this wine with salty minerality and depth. A purist Riesling.

Our Grosses Gewächs from the Kestener Paulinshofberg comes from the steepest site of our winery. Spontaneously fermented, this dry Riesling shows depth, spice, power, and the cool elegance of a great Mosel vineyard.

The Kestener Paulinsberg Kabinett represents the classic, weightless side of the Mosel: low alcohol, fine sweetness, and vibrant acidity. A playful, elegant Riesling with tremendous drinkability. Light yet full of tension.

Familie Basgen macht seit Generationen liebevolle und vor allem Handgemachte Spitzenweine. Kleine wundervolle Stilikonen die die charakteristische Mosel im Glas spüren lassen. Für viele speisen gibt es hier die passenden Begleiter. Wir kennen aus vielen Besuchen vor Ort die Philosophie, die Familie, den ganzen Prozess und die gesamte Weinauswahl. Habe das Weingut zufällig entdeckt und online bestellt. Lieferung nach Frankreich ging schnell. Gestern haben wir die Weine mit Freunden probiert. Die Rieslinge sind puristisch ohne dabei zu rustikal zu wirken. Der Pinot Blanc ist ein echter Gheimtipp… ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass es so gute an der Mosel gibt. Großes Lob.

Our Stance

What our wines stand for

Three things define every wine we bottle: organic cultivation, authentic origin, and labor in steep Mosel vineyards.

Organic since 1993

We have been farming organically since the 1990s – out of conviction and with a great deal of manual labor on the steep slopes. Today, we are among the few organic wineries on the Moselle whose vineyards are over 85% located on steep terrain.

Prädikat wine estate

All of our wines are bottled as Prädikatsweine. This means: no enrichment with sugar, no artificial manipulation – just grapes, vintage, and origin in the glass.

Truly Mosel

Steep slate slopes, spontaneous fermentation and a clear focus on the essentials. Our wines are not meant to feel manufactured, but rather to show where they come from.
